350 Ethernet Gateway |
Ethernet has become a dominant force in the industrial networking arena. As more and more applications are designed and integrated with Ethernet networks, to connect the existing network, such as an RS-232-equipped system, is becoming an important issue.
The CipherLab 350 Ethernet Converter is designed as a convenient and cost-effective solution to link your existing serial (RS232) devices to Ethernet networks via 10 Base-T. It provides connectivity of two serial devices to the network simultaneously.
The connection for each serial device can be established actively (as a client) or passively (as a server). The data from attached serial devices are converted to IP packets and transmitted to the receivers on the LAN and conversely, the IP packets sent to the serial devices are converted to RS232 signals by the 350 Ethernet Converter.
Serial devices such as barcode readers, UPSs, data terminals, and so on, can then communicate and exchange data with other hosts on the LAN.
